The computer science department at LAU is conducting a first of its kind linguistic study to analyze
the Lebanese dialect chat or Arabizi (Arabic+Englizi). We are developing a tool that can identify sentiment or opinion from text. We need
lots of data to test on therefore your contribution is of high necessity!
Sentiment analysis is the polarity classification of a given text whether the expressed opinion in a sentence is positive or negative.
We are NOT asking you to give us your personal whatsapp chat, just send us the NON-PERSONAL chat history such as group chats!
Our only purpose is to run the algorithm over the data, please submit as much data as possible even if they contain bad mouthing, we need to test our algorithm's accuracy!
We are going to delete all sender names from the files, since we are only interested in the content for testing. You may send us the whatsapp chat directly to
taha.eltobaili@lau.edu or you may delete the names yourself using this platform!
The chat data will NOT be shared or presented anywhere, only results in numbers will be written on research paper!
1) Send the whatsapp chat to yourself!
- Open the WhatsApp Conversation you want to email.
- Tap the contacts name or group subject in the navigation bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Email Conversation.
- Select email the conversation Without Media.
- Enter your email address and tap Send.
- Tap and hold on the conversation or group.
- Select Email conversation.
- Send email without attaching media.
- Tap and hold on the individual or group conversation.
- Select Email conversation.
- Tap on Send.
2) Download the chat from your email and use our platform to delete all names!
